7/9 – Investigation: The Hunt for Jor – Late Evening
Continuing the search for the Pirate Jor, Thorpe calls upon all detectives to meet him at the Castle. This mission will last until 11:59pm 7/18. Please file all reports in the mailbox at the rewards hall (there is a teleporter next to the EM Hall).

7/14 – Governor Meeting – 8pm
7/19 – Global Event Arc – 7pm

7/26 – Festival of Masks – 6pm
A bit late this year (for unexplained reasons), Nujelm’s Festival of Masks will take place in front of the Palace. Please note that this is in Felucca. More information to come.

The second event in the current global arc. Please meet at Serpent’s Hold in Felucca at 6pm on 6/28.

Howdy folks.

I had written up something a bit more fictiony, but accidentally deleted it 🙁

Until I can redo it, I’m going to give a barebones breakdown of where we currently are with the extended investigation:

Part I:

1. At Buc’s Den a few drunken pirates can be heard laughing and telling stories about Jor’s exploits – including the time he stole a ship from a Tokunese fisherman.

2. ALSO in Buc’s Den is our old friend Moody the Drunk who seemed, well, a bit less drunk than normal. He mentions a thief named Joshua (who you may recall from previous events) who came in asking about Jor. He indicates Thorpe may know more.

3. Returning to Thorpe, he reluctantly agrees to enlist the aid of Joshua, and tells you to leave a message for him.

4. At the docks in Zento, you can find a fisherman ranting about having his new ship, the “Kaze,” stolen by a pirate.

Ten points max – 4 for Leaving the message, 4 for finding the name of the ship, and 2 for getting both components and writing up a report including your own analysis of the evidence.

Part II:

Joshua leaves a return message in the book, specifying a time and day to “receive a shipment.” He is found near the message drop point. More to come after reports for this section are filed.

Olivia…wake up…wake up Olivia Kanlocke…now.

Olivia Kanlocke, Captain of the Guard, bolted upright in her bed, woken as if physically shaken by the words that entered into an otherwise untroubled sleep. She rubbed one eye with her palm and wondered what time it was. She sighed as she realized a candle still burned in the far corner of the room – she must not have been asleep long.

As her eyes began to adjust, she realized the candle was not flickering, moving shadows here and there. She became immediately alert, and with the quickness of a warrior in her prime, she moved. Expecting an attack of magic, she leapt from her bed, clutching the dagger she kept under her pillow. She hit the ground rolling, expecting to hear the crack of lightning or feel the singe of a ball of flame as it passed overhead. She regained her footing mere feet from the source of light. Bringing her eyes, and her dagger, to bear, she was stunned by a dazzling flash that filled the room.

She staggered backwards as the blinding light began to subside. Through the spots that danced across her eyes, she could begin to make out a shape. A man, in a robe.

“Do not fear me, Olivia. I am known by various names, but most call me the Time Lord. Do not fear me, for it is I who needs your help.”

Just a reminder, or a notice for those who didn’t see the announcement elsewhere (my apologies for letting the website slip through the announcement cracks): Meet at Castle Blackthorn tonight at 8pm EST for the first in a series of global events!

My apologies for the inconvenience.

Thorpe’s got an assignment! He can be found at Castle Blackthorn. Reports are to be filed at the Reward Hall until I have a more suitable place set up – check the book next to Thorpe for details. All submitted reports will be good for rank points in the Guards!

This is the first part of a larger investigation, and will end at 11:59pm EST on 5/25! Please have reports submitted by then! What you find out during the course of this investigation is going to seriously impact the direction of the rest of the story!

by Barnaby

So, I noted in the event post for tonight’s event that it would no longer be a 24 hour investigation – I am going to extend that. In order to do so, though, I need to change a few things around so it won’t be ready until a bit later tonight (after 7pm). It will, however, run a few days now, and is going to lead in to some other events that will influence the story, and potentially have dire consequences for a main character.
I will post when Thorpe is ready to begin dispensing the assignment. Again, this will be something you can complete at any time while it is up.

Thursday, May 14th, 7:00pm EST – Royal Britannian Guard Promotion Ceremony and Meeting
Those up for promotion will receive their sashes and be elevated in rank. Afterwards, a short meeting will be held with the Captain. She is requesting that those Town Guard regiments who are staffing an outpost bring arms and armor for the Guards to be stationed there, as they have balked at using something not produced by the crafters in their own towns. Please make sure they are uniform…uniforms. :D

A moongate will be provided from the EM Hall.

Saturday, May 16th, 7:00pm EST – Decay: Clearing a Path
Delbert and the Wodewose have one final task that needs to be completed before the final threat can be confronted. Meet at Empath Abbey.

You may start the investigation at any time within that 24 hours by visiting Detective Thorpe at the castle.

Sunday, May 31st, 7pm EST – Decay: The Fall and Rebirth
The finale to the Decay arc…finally! Meet at Empath Abbey in Yew.
